I love this, even though I feel supremely happy where I am right now A long time ago I decided to make my work week 4 days not 4 or 5 And simply THAT choice has brought so much happiness into my life We need to be reminded of this all the time I’m guilty of taking on more and more two… then comes resentment. Thank you!

So glad that you've prioritized that balance in your life, Dr. Pia! It's too easy to fall into the "more" trap. Thanks so much for reading :)

Thank's for the shoutout Brina! I resonate with your thoughts "will I ever be enough" on so many levels. As a recovering perfectionist, and someone who's known for wearing numerous hats, I struggle to pause, to even relax and constantly deal with the feeling of wanting to earn me some relaxation time. It's inspiring to read how you're working your way to getting there.

I'm so glad it resonated! I feel you on the perfectionism and struggling to relax. It's a fine line to walk when we have goals we'd like to achieve but also don't want to get swept up into the cycle of continuously charging forward. I appreciate the support and hope you do something kind for yourself today (and every day!) ❤️

✨Loved this Brina!

I think we’re conditioned to always strive for more because of the capitalist society we exist in - it benefits the economy for us to want more, do more, bigger this, more of that etc.

But I think this overarching message filters down into different messaging depending on a person’s upbringing. Maybe being told you need to achieve x, y and z to uphold family respect, proving yourself so you receive love and praise or working hard to avoid punishment.

When we finally get to a point of security within ourselves where we can tell the world and that niggling inner voice to STFU, then I think the feeling of being enough really settles into the fibre of our being. Sounds like you’re pretty much there! 🫶🏽

Thank you so much, Tacita! That was beautifully said ❤️

Yes, it's so true that capitalism and the environment we were brought up in deeply ingrain these messages. And I agree -- it's freeing to finally notice when that inner voice is demanding too much of us. (Nothing more empowering to tell it to STFU, indeed!) Appreciate your encouragement, as always!
